Upgrade tipSent in by Kevin Kaun Its hard to decide what to upgrade when you level-up but its easier if you've played the N64 version. This is what I mean: Say your best character is Yoshi on the N64 version. Then you can try to build up your character's stats based on Yoshi. The same thing with all the other characters. If you really are great with Yoshi, beef up your character's speed stats a lot, Control daily, and a little bit of Power sometimes, and spin very, very, very sparsely.
Gain More ExperienceSent in by Jeff Before I even begin, I have found out that when you play EXHIBITION matches using your character from the MARIO TOUR mode, and when you win matches, you still gain experience for that match. Try to play as many as you can. I have found out a trick to gain more experience points from tennis matches. First off, equip yourself with the Iron Shoes and Iron Racket if you can. Now when you play a match, score against your opponent by performing as many lob shots, drop shots, smash aces, service aces, and return aces as you can. It does not matter how many you have in each category, as long as you have a lot of one of them. When the match ends, you should have a lot of experience points. (For some easy experience, play the EXHIBITION mode and face Joy while performing this trick. She's EXTREMELY easy to beat as long as you're at a decent level.)
Prevent yourself from losing gamesSent in by Jeff Just like in Mario Golf, during the middle of a match, and if you're losing, press START to bring up the menu, then go to QUIT and SAVE your game. All of the stats (sets won, games won, lob shots, smash aces, service aces, return aces, drop shots, etc.) will be saved. The points will be reset back to 0-0 though. Use this trick to prevent yourself from even losing ONE game! (Used with my Gain More Experience trick, you can build up a LOT of lob shots, drop shots, service aces, return aces, and smash aces to get a LOT of experience!)

Nintendo 64 charactersUse the Transfer Pak with the Nintendo 64 version of Mario Tennis. Select "Transfer" at the main menu, then select "Game Pak Check". After it checks, an icon that says "Transfer N64 Characters" will appear. This will allow you to play as Bowser, Waluigi, Wario, and Yoshi.
Silver and Gold RacketsMake sure you have the Iron Racket equipped, then go to the training courts. Go up to the lake and follow it until you see a boy practicing his swing. Tell him you do not like it and you will show him your swing. He will laugh, and you will get angry. Next, get ready to swing. In ten seconds, press A as many times as possible. If you press it 100 times, you will get the Silver Racket. If you swing it 150 times you will get the Gold Racket. Note: Try wrapping your hand in your shirt and rub it over A until it ends. You should be able to get either racket this way.
