Skip the Dr Light sequence

To skip the Dr Light sequence and get to the robot selection screen 
faster is to when you first start the game and you are in Dr Light's 
laboratory, When Dr Light starts talking, reset the game by hitting 
Select, Start, A, and B simultaneously. When you are back at the Title 
screen. select Start game and hit start. You should now be at the 
Robot Selection screen. 


Get turbo accelerator items

After you die on a stage, the game over screen will appear. Press 
button B to continue. Die and continue two more times at the same 
stage. At the third continue, the screen will change to Dr. Light's 
laboratory. He will have just finished developing the turbo accelerator 
for your arm weapon and he will give it to you. Die and continue again 
on the same stage and he will give you another turbo accelerator 
item for even faster fireball shooting.


How to get some out-of-reach items

You don't have to have every item to finish the game, but you can obtain 
some out-of-reach items by modifying Mega Man's Mega Arm. Whenever 
you defeat a boss and finish a level, you're given the option of visiting 
Dr. Light's lab, where cool tools are for sale. For 90 Chips, you can 
purchase an MH Capsule, which reconfigures Mega Man's Mega Arm. With 
the newly customized arm you can reach all sorts of far away items. 


Destroy stone blocks

Stone blocks are one of the few obstructions that don't harm Mega 
Man, but they can keep you from exploring all the areas. You can destroy 
the blocks, though, by finding two essential items, the Deep Digger (UR) 
and the Break Dash (PL). The Deep Digger lets you pick up certain blocks 
in the game, while the Break Dash quickly converts granite to dust. If 
you can't move or break a block using the Deep Digger or the Break Dash, 
you'll have to find another route around it. 


Boss order

Mercury: Weakness: Black Hole. Get Grab Buster.
Neptune: Weakness: Deep Digger (???). Get Salt Water.
Mars: Weakness: Salt Water. Get Photon Missile
Venus: Weakness: Photon Missile. Get Bubble Bomb. Floats upwards 
towards ceilings.
Terra - Dark Moon: DM is none other than the Cyclops, Rock Man. Mega 
Arm him in the eye.
Pluto: Weakness: Grab Buster. Get Break Dash. Very similar to Charge
Kick. Can break through some walls.
Jewel: When you come to a room with 2 ladders going up, use Deep 
Digger on the block above the ladder on the floor to the right and 
proceed down there.
Uranus: Weakness: Break Dash. Get Deep Digger. Picks up rocks from below.
Jewel: When you see a ledge above a seal, get to it and use the Break Dash
to enter the jewel room.
Jupiter: Weakness: Bubble Bomb. Get Electric Shock. Only extends from hand.
Jewel: When faced with the choice to go up or to the right, go up, and 
return down. Keep going down and when you hit the bottom, go left. 
You will need Deep Digger.
Saturn: Weakness: Electric Shock. Get Black Hole
Jewel: when you get to the big gap at the beginning kill the time slower 
and Rush Coil over to the left. You need Deep Digger or Mega Hand.
Terra: use Mega Arm. Get Spark Chaser.
Dr. Wily - Stage 1: Auto scrolling, using Rush Jet, fire your way into 
Wily's Base. Use (rush's?) Mega Buster on the Main gun.
Stage 2: Fight Enker, Quint, Punk, and Ballade again. Use Mega Arm for each.
Stage 3: Fight all 8 robots again.
Arms: Fire Mega Atm at wrist when eyes are exposed.
Wily Machine: avoid missiles, destroy gravity reverser. Shoot at time 
bombs so they are forced up against machine when they are about to 
explode.
Wily's Ship: Use Spark Chaser.
Stage 4: SunStar: Destroy with Mega Arm.


Boss tips

To beat DarkMoon, jump over anything that comes your way, and stand still 
when a piece of him bounces. 

To beat Terra, jump away from his Spark Chaser, then slide under his teleport. 

To beat Sunstar, Jump over everything and use the Spark Chaser you got 
from Terra. You may need some E-Tanks.
