Where is the crystal ball for the fortuned teller in Chapter 3?

After talking with the fortune teller in Shecola, you'll need to retrieve her lost crystal ball in order to exchange it for her services in eventually waking the Miracola chief's daughter. After you've talked to the fortuneteller, head through the mountain pass nearby and enter the underground passage for another heart container. Then you will have to head out on the northern finger of the lagoon and into the abandoned cemetery/town. Head for the patch of graves far to the left and step on the grave that is painted blue . You'll enter a series of tunnels that you'll have to use your yo-yo and special weapons to get through. If you need red hearts at the beginning of this cave, you can take a northern path along a series of green jumping blocks lined with bouncing skulls. Take the door through the northern wall, pick up the double heart, and take the only way out back to the graveyard surface. You can repeat this until your hearts are full. When you're ready to advance, go through the southern door of this same room where the two skelepuppies are. In the upcoming maze you'll be faced with about two or three forks in the road before you reach a point where you don't have to worry about getting shut out. You'll know you've gone the right way when you find the room with not a double heart or anything but a small purplish slug. Don't be hasty -- kill the slug and take an immediate east turn through the hole in the wall. In this room you can get yourself another double set of hearts by going around the wall to a hole in the break off of the southern wall. There's a ghost in the little compartment in the lower left hand of the room, so using a wand might be a good idea. Get the double hearts if you need them. If you don't, just go out the door in the eastern wall because you'll either have to take half a hit or spend a wand to get through the double heart room and you'll also have to re-enter from the slug room. At the end of the maze there is a large carving of a skull in the wall. Jump three times on the northern panel and it will pour water into the hole before you. You'll be allowed to leave and you'll find yourself back at the surface of the graveyard, and the pond in the town will be dried up. The crystal ball will be lying there on the ground net to a hole that evidently allows the lake to be drained out into the dungeon through the skull carving's mouth. Pretty ingenious architecture for people who live in thatch-roofed houses.

Power up

Sent in by Rick LaPlante at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! After you beat the first Zoda, drop down one of the hatches where the aliens come out. Wait until it opens and fall in. You will be in a room where you can power up.

Killing Octo

Sent in by Andrew Simmons You can kill Octo almost without getting hit! First, find a Snowman Doll in the dungeon of water. Now, go through the door beside the chest with the doll. wait until Octo rushes down to you, use the doll to freeze him and use the island Yo-Yo to wail on him. Do this 2 times and you should kill him.

Rod of Sight tips

Sent in by Filip Dewulf In Chapter 3, in the Ghost Tunnel, there are several rooms where you should use the Rod of Sight (the thing that looks like a magic wand), to make invisible enemies visible and destroy them. There are some areas where that's the only way to get past a room other times this will lead to extra hearts and potions. Use the Rod of Sight to make the big ghost at the end of the tunnel visible, too.

False exit in Ghost Tunnel

Sent in by Filip Dewulf In the Ghost Tunnel, there is a room that has a slime in front of a staircase that is a false exit. Destroy the slug, and there will be a dark spot on the floor that indicates a tunnel. Stand there and move right to advance.

Finding the same heart over and over

Sent in by Bobby Rasmussen On Chapter 6, in the second part, get the Heart Container by going through the maze, then, enter the stage, leave, and get the heart again. You can do this as many times as you want, but after you pass the stage, your hearts go back to the way they were, but it helps a lot to have all those hearts for that stage!

Finding a heart

Sent in by Tyler In Chapter #2 talk to the person in the lighthouse, then go into Sub-C and go to the bottom right of that patch of water and press right. Now go to bottom right-push right. Talk to person in hut. Go to beach & go all the way right then all the way up & press left-follow tunnel. Get bottle and go back to Sub-C. Press B on wavy spots until you get to dock. Go to the right of Heart-press right-follow tunnel. Get heart.

Fighting the giant octopus in Chapter 2

Sent in by Mushgloom at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! When you face the giant octopus in Chapter 2, dodge all his shots by jumping back and forth on the blocks at the bottom of the screen. When he charges forward, immediately pause the game and activate the Snowman to freeze him (push down to find that item when the game is paused it doesn't show up with the regular weapons). While he's frozen, just hammer away with whatever you've got as fast as you can. If you're really quick, you should take him doing this twice.

Fighting the Chapter 3 boss

Sent in by Mushgloom In Chapter 3, the boss made of fire won't be hurt by your weapons. You have to activate the switch blocks that reveal two red buttons. The switches and are at the top left corner and at the bottom right side of the boss' platform. Jump on the buttons, and he'll go down.

Entrance to the Ghost Tunnel

Sent in by Mushgloom In the village with the tombstones in Chapter 3, the entrance to the Ghost Tunnel is under the tombstone that is a bit darker than the others. It's in the top left part of the screen, where there are a lot of tombstones. If you can't see it, it's the second one from the left on the third row from the top.

Code at the end of Chapter 4

Sent in by Mushgloom At the end of Chapter 4, you are required to enter a code to move on. The code is 747. That piece of information is located in a piece of paper in the instructions, so if you bought the game without the manual, that's where that came from.

Accessing Captain Bell's cave in Chapter 5

Sent in by Mushgloom at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! In order to access Captain Bell's cave in Chapter 5, you have to play six notes in sequence on the giant piano at the memorial. The sequence is revealed by the parrot, after you give him a worm. He says "Do me so far. Do me." That translates on the musical scale (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, si) as "do mi sol fa do mi." In other words, play keys 1, 3, 5, 4, 1, 3 on the piano.

Beating the bosses at the end of Chapter 6

Sent in by Mushgloom To beat the bosses at the end of Chapter 6, use the weapon that splits in two parts. Fire it up and hit fire again when it gets between them. It will split off and hit them both, saving you a shot. Be sure to jump out of the way of their shots, too.

Beating the green robot near the end of Chapter 7

Sent in by Mushgloom To beat the green robot near the end of Chapter 7, force it back on the bridge with your guns. Hit the block, which will make a button appear. Then jump on the button and some of the bridge will disappear. Fire at the robot some more until he backs off the bridge and falls to his doom.

Fighting the first Zoda in Chapter 8

Sent in by Mushgloom at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! To defeat the first Zoda in Chapter 8, get the gun and fire at the head whenever it appears. Before anything appears, though, stand in the middle of the screen and wait to see whether the head or the hand comes up. This will give you time and room to run away from the hand if it comes don't try to fight it.

Fighting the Computer Core

Sent in by Mushgloom You have to stand on the middle trap door to be able to shoot at the Computer Core when it is exposed. Fire like a madman (or madwoman, sheesh), so that it can't completely regenerate when its cover comes up. Be sure to watch the lower trap doors to see when they open. That's your cue to get off the middle one, or else you'll fall down and have to start all over.

Fighting Zoda

Sent in by Mushgloom at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! When you get to the end of the game, the bigger, badder Zoda will appear. Whatever you do, keep your distance from him and fire with the gun. There's not much subtlety here. Just keep firing from a distance, and keep running. If Zoda gets caught in a corner, you can take him out quickly. Watch out for those little critters, too.
