Make your car float

Sent in by Brak at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! To make your car float first put in these following codes at the setup screen: The stop timer code The Anti-Gravity code The Restruct in place code Now in the race hold the brake and the c up button. You should now be floating in the air and flashing. Wait until you stop flashing and press C-Up again while holding the brake the whole time. This can help you get to those hard to get keys and secrets that are to high. (Note: Don't float up to a ceiling that is to thick or a building that is right above you of chances are that you will hit it after your done flashing and plummet to your death.)

Drive underwater

Sent in by Matt Ross To drive underwater, on track five, drive down the cliff to Pappy's Land, but instead of going in drive towards where the concrete wall meets the water, try to hit the exact meeting point, if you hit it right you will get a good amount of air and land underneath the track, the screen should be entirely blue, if you drive back towards the track you will see it, and Pappy's Land from below. You can only go about 45 MPH, but the visual is worth it. Use the code to turn off resurrect to make the initial jump.

Extra boost

Sent in by James DeMar At the beginning of each race wait until the 1 appears then press the gass. This gives you an extra boost.

Jump over a lot of boats

Sent in by James DeMar On track five at the beginning of the race, make a left, a right, another right, then a left through the gate. Drive on the road till you come to a house with a red flag on it. When you reach the red flagged house keep on driving straight through the two trees and break down the fence. Drive in between the two buildings and go up the ramp for an awesome jump over a lot of boats.

Tag

Sent in by Matt Mullen Ever get tired of just racing? Well heres a new idea, TAG! Play practice mode and then whoever is not going to be it let them have a ten second head start. Then the person that is it go chase them. To tag the other person you must touch them, crash into them. This is very fun to do and can eat up a lot of your time that you have nothing to do with, to bad you can't play tag with the computer, hey that's a new idea!

Drive under the track

Sent in by Chad Bristol at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! First, turn off time, car resurrect and reset. On the first track, go over bridge, through tunnel, keep going until you get to the first buildings. there will be a speaker on the left, keep going until you see an all pink building on the left side, right before the first cross street. if you drive along the pink building, turning into it, you will fall under the track. when you land, you can drive under the track!

Pappy Land

Sent in by Dan A. On Track 6 You can go to a ultra stunt course called Pappy Land. You just turn around at the beginning. When you pass the sharp turn passed the brown rock turn left go down the hill and to the right until you come to a hole in the ground. Go down it and have fun!

Track 3 shortcut

Sent in by Ryan Eubanks On track 3, there is a tricky but helpful shortcut. Right as you pass the 3rd checkpoint, look for a red and white tower to your left. Once you reach the bottom of the hill, make a sharp left and proceed up the hill between two blue buildings. Now the tricky point is navigating through this passageway. There are many rocks and if you run into them, you will blow up and be zapped back onto the track.

Track 2 shortcuts

Sent in by Ryan Eubanks On track 2, there are two shortcuts. The first one is right before you pass the first checkpoint. Right before the checkpoint, swerve over to the left and you can go into a garage. It's not much of a shortcut, but it is one. Also on track 2, when you are approaching the fourth checkpoint don't turn right. Instead, keep going straight and go to the right of the Tractor Trailer and there will be a ramp in which you can ride around on the building.

Hover above ground

Sent in by Code Hunter at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! This trick lets you hover above ground, and go higher and higher also. 1. Turn on "Resurrect in Place" (On the Setup screen, hold the Z Button, then press and hold Left C then Right C. Continue to hold the Z Button, and release the C Buttons. Press and hold Right C then Left C to activate the code. A small "R" with line through it will appear if the code is entered correctly.) 2. Go to any level, and press abort. Sometime after you press abort and before you start to fall down, press and hold the brake. You're hovering! This can be useful for hide and seek and tag, because anyone who doesn't know how to do this trick can't get to you! 3. You can also go higher into the air by continuing to hold the brake, then once you become solid again, press abort. You will rise higher and can repeat the process to go as high as you want!

Invisible road

Sent in by Code Hunter Select Track four, using any car you like. Follow the track, and be looking to your right. As soon as you see an orange tunnel, go through it. Hit the green bump hard and get as high as possible. You need to get on the third level up (might take some practice.) Once you are there, go all the way to the end of the bridge, stop and turn around. Go as fast as you can the opposite way. Fly right out of where you came on and you should go through the blue building and back into the tunnel. You will bounce and fly through a green building. Then there is just air. You fall for about 5 seconds, then you drive over some dirt, and finally it takes you back to the street. This is like an invisible road. It takes some practice, and only works 90% of the time. But once you get it, it is pretty cool.

Passwords

Sent in by Code Hunter Simply enter the code below for a completed circuit (must have to access F1 Car). 8DP5KG5L4G59P G92WVCQY0DRDQ Note: Japanese (in addition to a rare few US and European) carts may require this alternative code to work: 9DQ6LH6M5H6$Q H$3XWCR01DTDR Follow these instructions and you'll be soaring over the prison cells of Alcatraz in no time. Note: If you've already completed a circuit and have it saved to memory pak, you can bypass the codes below and skip straight to the four steps to obtain the track. First of all, you'll need to finish a circuit. To save you the time of doing that, Atari has included the circuit winning code as follows: 8DP5KG5L4G59P G92WVCQY0DRDQ Note: Japanese (in addition to a rare few US and European) carts may require this alternative code to work: 9DQ6LH6M5H6$Q H$3XWCR01DTDR Once you've done that, choose the option to continue circuit and then let the time run out while racing. After a quick congratulations screen (and the reward code for the Formula 1 car) you can get started.

Alcatraz bound

Sent in by Code Hunter Alcatraz -- Track 7 (only allowed if you've finished a circuit, mind you) 1. On car select screen: Hold C-Left, press Z, release both, press left 2. On setup screen: Hold C-Up, press Z, release both, press up 3. On track select screen: Hold C-Right, press Z, release both, press right 4. On car select screen: Hold C-Down, press Z, release both, press down, L, R You're Alcatraz bound. Finally, a time-saver hint from Atari Games.

Saving Alcatraz

Sent in by Code Hunter at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! If you have a memory pak you can cheat the system and save Alcatraz (track 7) as follows: 1. Enter circuit code to continue a circuit. 2. Finish race/die/let time run out. 3. Start a new game (without using a player -- to tell system you've completed a circuit). 4. Go to the car select screen and enter first part of code. 5. Back up to the setup screen and enter second part of code. 6. Start a new game, this time selecting a Pak player. 7. Go to car select screen and enter final part of code. 8. Start game and track 7 is saved/enabled under current player. Note: There is no way to get the Formula 1 car saved on your pak without actually winning a circuit on that player.

Different texture schemes

Sent in by Code Hunter From Setup Screen: Hold C-Right) and press L button. Release both and then press the Z trigger. Keep repeating the process for multiple different texture schemes, including a psychedelic mode.

More sensitive steering

Sent in by Code Hunter If you want the steering to be more sensitive, go into the controller setup and change the analog stick to steering wheel. This will still work with the stick but make it more sensitive. (if you have created a player, it will remember this setting each time you play.)

Power slide

Sent in by Code Hunter To do a sort of power slide, make sure you are using manual transmission (much better anyway) and quickly press the reverse button (c-down) while turning. You will lose some speed and end up in a lower gear, but it sure helps in an emergency!

Formula 1 Car

Sent in by Code Hunter You have to beat all 24 races in the Circuit mode first. Now go to the track select screen and press the Z-Button four times (Z, Z, Z, Z). You should hear a horn. You can now choose the Formula 1 Car at the car selection screen. Note: You can't have all three extra cars at once. You can only choose the Formula 1 racer or the Hotrod at once unless you turn off the code by entering it again.

Disable the auto abort

Sent in by Code Hunter On the Setup screen then press Up C, Up C, Up C, Up C to disable the auto abort. A small icon with "00.06" will appear along the bottom of the screen if the code is entered correctly. Repeat the code to turn this option off.

Different tire sizes

Sent in by Code Hunter On the Car Select screen, press and hold Right C then Left C and release both buttons. Then press and hold Left C then Right C to activate the code. The car in the viewing window will reflect the changes. Use the code repeatedly to change between the different tire sizes.

Car is driving around crashed and burning

Sent in by Code Hunter As you cross the finish line, crash your car. After "Game Over" starts flashing, and before it has stopped flashing, hold down the L, R and Z Buttons until the post-game high score display demo begins. Your car will still be crashed and burning, but will be driving around the track is if nothing was wrong.

Change the color of the fog in the viewing window

Sent in by Code Hunter On the Car Select Screen hold the Z Button and press Down C, Down C, Down C. The color of the fog in the viewing window will change.

Checkered patterns

Sent in by Code Hunter at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! On the Setup screen, press and hold Right C then press the L Button. Release both buttons, then press the Z Button. Press and hold Right C then press the L Button and release both buttons. Press the Z Button again to activate the code. If the code is entered correctly, a small checkered pattern will appear along the bottom of the screen. Repeat the code to switch between the different textures.

Change the camera distance

Sent in by Code Hunter During a race, hold the View (L Button) and press Up or Down on the Control Pad/Stick to change the camera distance.

Car collisions option

Sent in by Code Hunter On the Setup screen, press Left then hold Right then press Right C and release both buttons, then press Up C, Left C, Down C, Z Button. A bus icon will appear along the bottom of the screen if entered correctly. Repeat the code to turn the car collisions option off.

Smoking hulk or burnt-out hulk

Sent in by Code Hunter On the Car Select screen, Hold Up C and press Z, Z, Z, Z. Repeat the code to switch between smoking hulk, burnt-out hulk, or normal.

Different sizes

Sent in by Code Hunter On the Car Select Screen press and hold Left C then Right C. Release both buttons. Press and hold Right C then Left C, then release both buttons to activate the code. Changes will be displayed in the viewing window. Repeat the code to switch between the different sizes.

Disable the clock

Sent in by Code Hunter On the Setup screen, hold the Z Button, then press and hold Down C then Up C. Continue to hold the Z Button, and release the C Buttons. Press and hold Up C then Down C to disable the clock. A small clock with line through it will appear if the code is entered correctly. Repeat the code to deactivate this option.

Extreme

Sent in by Code Hunter On the Options screen, highlight "Mirror" and hold all four C Buttons. Press Left/Right on the Control Pad/Stick to view an extra option called "Extreme."

Place the car at the same spot as where the car was destroyed

Sent in by Code Hunter This code will attempt to place the car at the same spot as where the car was destroyed. It will make one attempt to place the car in the same spot but if it cannot, it will then will move the car back onto the track. On the Setup screen, hold the Z Button, then press and hold Left C then Right C. Continue to hold the Z Button, and release the C Buttons. Press and hold Right C then Left C to activate the code. A small "R" with line through it will appear if the code is entered correctly. Repeat the code to deactivate this option.

Foggy Night

Sent in by Code Hunter Go to the Options screen and change "Fog" to the Heavy setting. Then hold all four C buttons and press right on the Control Pad. You should now have access to Foggy Night.

Auto abort

Sent in by Code Hunter at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! While you are holding the A button down and accelerating, press the C-Up button down and auto abort will be activated. This is a valuable feature in that you can save time by quickly getting back on track even right before an impending high speed crash. You can use this as a cheat by for example accelerating down a steep hillside and activating auto abort right before you crash at the bottom.

Shifting

Sent in by Code Hunter On corners, instead of using the brake, use the A button and the C-down button (reverse) to do power slides. Depending on the speed you are going when you hold A and tap C-down, you will shift to the gear that is appropriate. (You must be using manual transmission, obviously) So, let's say you go around a corner and bump into the guard rail and it slows you down but you aren't sure whether or not to shift down, just hold the A button and tap C-down and you will shift to the appropriate gear. Note: Your Gear Shift in the upper-right hand corner will show that you shifted to Reverse for a brief instant, however, it shouldn't slow you down if you do it correctly.

Lots of ramps

Sent in by Code Hunter On track 5 at the top the very big hill near seal rock, (the northern end on your map) there is a ramp stunt course. Turn right, just before the checkpoint and go down the big hill towards the ocean. There is a concrete barrier there also-use it as a guide. At the bottom of the hill, there is a passage way. Speed down that passage way as fast as you can because there is a big loop at the other end and a stunt course with lots of ramps!

Special car

Sent in by Code Hunter Win a Circuit. From then on, if you are using the same player, you can Press Z, Z, Z, Z on the Track Select screen to enable the special car.

Get keys and go to places easier

Sent in by Code Hunter This glitch can/will help you get keys and go to places easier. To do the glitch, you need to activate the resurrection code to abort in the same place. Then go to any track in circuit, one race, or practice. You should also turn time on, for collecting keys. Okay, to do this, hold B until you stop. Then hit the abort button. You have to keep holding on to the B button! You should start floating in the air. Hit abort again when you stop floating to go higher. You can do this almost any time you want (in jumps, wrecking, etc.) Sometimes you can tumble in the air. It looks pretty cool. You can also find out how fast your car can go by doing the trick, then start holding the A button. Every car can go about 200 or more.

Huge mines

Sent in by Code Hunter From Setup screen: L, R, L, R, L, R (quickly). This code turns all the cones in San Francisco Rush into huge mines that blow up anything that touches them.

Race the game upside down

Sent in by Code Hunter From Setup screen: Up, Right, Down, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left. This code enables players to race the game upside down.

Key locations

Sent in by Code Hunter at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! Acquiring all the keys on any course in a regular race will unlock the hot-rod. Note: Keys can be saved using the memory pak. Six to eight keys are hidden in each track. Hidden cars are exclusive to the track in which they have been unlocked. Track #1: 1. There is a key right behind you if you turn around and drive to the left, rear of the tunnel. 2. The second key is right after the "Mace" billboards at the start of the race. The only way to grab it is to drive half-way across the Goldengate bridge and turn around. Then drive back towards the starting line. As soon as you get off the bridge turn left onto the sand. You should see the key at the top of the screen get lined up as quickly as you can and a hidden bump will send you tumbling through the air and into the key (If you have lined up right). 3. This was a tough one. As soon as you get off the Golden Gate bridge you will go through a checkpoint. Right after the checkpoint, turn left and head for the hill. If you hit the hill just right and at almost full speed you will again tumble into the next key. 4. Just after the first tunnel there is a brown fence at the left side of the road. A few seconds after you exit the tunnel there is a place where the fence is pushed back and you can break the fence there. This is a shortcut. If you drive along the far left side of the shortcut you will find this key. 5. Right after completing the first lap there is a very small tunnel directly left of the finish line. Go through the tunnel. Just as you pull out of the tunnel slow down and turn left. There is a key right against the wall. 6. After finishing a lap, there will be a part of the grass on the left side of the track that raises up above the road. If you follow it along the side of the road you will find a key on the ledge just before it drops off. Track #2 On level two, I found it tough to get the key. When driving up the bridge come to a stop on the edge. Slowly drive off. You will fall to the bridge below you where there is an extra key. This trick is much easier with the resurrect in place cheat activated. Track #3: 1. Well, the first one I came across is in a shortcut that's off road next to a really tall, skinny structure around some trees. There are two identical blue houses just past it. Anyway past that, there's a sort of white and greenish half pipe that goes for some bit. Well when you come across the first rocks that run across the bottom of the half pipe, if you look up and to the right side of the half pipe, over the rocks, you'll see a key. I presume using the rocks and the half pip to get it would be the easy way. 2. Right after exiting the shortcut mentioned above, you'll be back on the road. There will be a dip just after the shortcut's exit with a structure over it. There's the key. The way to get this is to pass it up, and then backtrack uphill and get enough speed to get it. 3. The other one I noticed is a while down after the one above. It's after two relatively sharp turns left. The road heads up, and it'll join with another road marked with cones. Turn around, knock away the cones, and you'll come to a dead end. Look right, and you'll see the road drops off. You'll also notice a key well blended into the background a little to the right suspended in the air. How to get it, your guess is as good as mine. Track #4 On track #4 there are many hard to reach keys. There are 2 or 3 keys in an office building. After you enter the city at the beginning stay to the right side of the track. You see a path running through to buildings, then crossing the main path. Shortly after crossing the road there is a ramp that if hit will launch you into 1 of 3 different floors of an office building. The lowest floor drops you off back on the course. The middle on has a key in the middle and drops you off before the secret tunnel (which is found by traveling into the building with the parked truck in front of it). The third is the highest floor. At the end of the path, it will drop you off on top of another building. Put the car in reverse and there is a key at the edge of the roof. Another hard to find key is this: DON'T take the tunnel shortcut. Instead keep going but before you reach the drop-off to continue with the tunnel exit. Stay if the left lane. You will continue on a ramp which leads to a parking garage. Go slow, because if you hit an edge (particularly the first) you will blow up. Actually, once you get on it, if you keep driving straight, you will pass through the wall of the ramp and continue on. Once you make to the garage, the key is easily accessed. Track #5 1. As you begin the race go along the right wall and around the barrier. This takes you through a gate and into fort Mason. Go down by the barrack type buildings and backtrack until you are in the 2nd, you must use the berm going into the sand and jump and ricochet off the first set of buildings and land on the second set where there is a key. 2. The second key is reached using the same jump as the first. The key is on top of the building extending into the water to the right as you go off the jump. 3 + 4 There are two keys hidden on the ground in the marina district. 5. As you are traveling on the main track approaching the harbor there is a gap in the buildings in front of you that leads into the marina district. If you go through it without hitting any trees, hit the ramp straight ahead, hit the angled roof on top of on of the houses( You can see the roof clearly as you approach the jump), you will bounce and hopefully land on the roof of a wide building. There is a key on top. 6. As you are going uphill approaching the split in the road by Normandy Terrace (the square box on southern most part of the track) you should get all the way to the left and as you approach the dirt ramp turn right so you fly through the gap in the buildings in front of you. There is a key suspended in the air on top of the building. 7. Instead of going off the ramp in number 6 turn right and then left to go around Normandy Terrace. As you come to the turn where you have to go left slow down. On the corner there is a gas station if you pull into it you will find the last key. In every track there are several keys. Collecting these keys while you are driving gives you special cars. You do not have to collect all the keys at once. Once you grab a key it will no longer show up on the track. Track #6 1. After you pass the first check point in the race turn left into the fenced in cave type thing. if you go straight into the key you will go through the wall into a hidden tunnel shortcut. 2. If you follow along the lake edge through the woods on the southern part of the track you will eventually see a key hidden behind a rise of land. 3. This one isn't that hard to find but took me quite a while to figure out how to get. When returning on the Espalanande( the road with all the busses) do not take the shortcut leading up. Continue straight into the curve. As you approach it head straight towards the rock wall. There is a hard to see ramp that will launch you to the seall rocks. The key is on a small island. 4. Behind the buildings on the curve by the seal rocks there is a small crevice with a key hidden in it. 5. As you are going over the dirt road you go by the Palace of the Legion of Honor. There is a driveway leading into it inside there is a key. 6. After the key at the palace go to the barrier behind the building. Follow it down to the parking lot behind the buildings. In the corner closest to the barrier is a key. 7. The next two key's are in the hidden skatepark. As you enter the skatepark turn to the right and don't go into the loop. The big wedge ramp can be used to jump through the loop to get the key in the middle. 8. The last key is in a corner of the pool on the second level. Track 7: The Rock One is near the start, around where the road starts to lift off the ground. Instead of following the road, drive around and under it. On the hill near the bottom of the second pylon is a key. One is in the black tunnel shortcut. Simply drive down the long corridor. When the tunnel turns, a key is near the inside of the curve. After exiting the black tunnel, you'll be in a large tunnel. After emerging from the large tunnel, you'll come to a second large tunnel. When through the second one, drive off the road towards the water. Follow the waterline and you'll find a key sitting right near the edge. One is on a ledge inside the building right next to the loop. To get it, go down the hill from the loop and get your speed up to about 80 to 90. Drive on the road towards the incline and instead of jumping on the roof you want to go through the wall. With luck, you'll land on the ledge inside the structure. It will be a lot easier to get this key if you have the resurrect in place code on. Once you go through the wall, you can press top c to reset your car so it stops in mid jump and falls onto the ledge. Another key is located in roughly the same manner. Go to the same place and drive towards the same building. This time you want to drift to the left as you approach the top of the hill. There is a grey ramp there. Hit it about 80-90 and land on top of the building next to the loop. On top you'll see two rows of cones. Once near the end of the roof. Drive off the edge to your right. There is a brown enclosed area you can land in and nab the next key.
