Lots of lives

Sent in by Steffen Longva On the 7th world on the first level there is a tube were shy guys come out from. If you take one of the green ball things and spit it out between the tube and the wall, the ball will destroy the shy-guys that comes out of the tube (you can not have a full amount of eggs because the shy-guys wont come out if you have). If the trick worked you will get an amazing amount of lives in the end.

Lots of lives in Level 1-7

Sent in by Muntoe In level 1-7, "Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy," there is a way to get as many lives as you want. Just eat one of those enemies that you see in the beginning that can roll up into a striped ball and look very much like aliens. Make sure you don't swallow it and take it to the first pipe that generates shy guys, right before the middle ring. Spit out the enemy into the small space between the pipe and the wall and make sure it stays there. Jump onto the ledge where the middle ring is, so that the monsters will come out of the pipe and try to follow you. The alien monster should just jump up and down and not go anywhere. The monsters jumping out of the pipe should jump onto the alien and be killed. After about six enemies die, they will start to become extra lives. Get as many lives as you wish.

In Level 3-8, how do you beat that really big plant at the end?

Sent in by Eric Moon at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! There's a glowing round thing sticking out in front of the roots with that white X on it which looks like bandages or masking tapes, it's facing where the plant's facing. That round thing is right under the bridge. You turn around away from the plant to the wall. When you shoot at the wall, aim low where the egg can bounce off there to fly right beneath the bridge where the glowing round thing is, so the egg can strike at the glowing round thing. When you shoot at the wall, the egg doesn't fly where your looking left to right. It flies antithetically once it bounces off the wall.

How do you get passed Level 2-5 The Cave of the Mystery Maze?

Sent in by Jack Moore First, you have to pound the ground through the dirt until you get to 2 up pointing springs. then make sure you have some eggs. Bounce on the springs to a stick pointing out on the right side. then jump into a place where you see a ? cloud. Hit it with an egg. a door will come out of it. Go inside of it. In this area is where most of the red coins and daisies are. Go to the first three blocks right above some dirt if you look up. Shoot an egg up at it. A up pointing spring should come down. Jump on it and go up. there will be another one. Jump on it. There will be yet another one. Do not jump on it if you want to do this really fast. And besides, for it to have any use you have to have the key. Then go past the cannons to another door. Go in it Hit the middle ring. You will have to jump from concrete surface to, well, you get the picture. There will be some spiked enemies in between blocks. You should knock them off with eggs or gusties from your mouth (gusty will pop up). There will be a pipe. Go up it. Then just go the rest of the to the end and there you have it.

In the cave of hairy Hedge Hog, How do you obtain the key, to exit this world?

Sent in by Kevin Chen At the beginning, don't go into the pipe at the bottom. Jump up on the mushrooms or trees or whatever (I haven't played the game in a while), and go to the right. Enter the pipe (not the one at the bottom). You should be next to a flower. Drop down, and there is the key.

100 points

Sent in by Rilo1 at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! Level 1-7 -- In the last section of the level their is something that looks like a log sticking out of the ground. Stand on top of that and jump as high as you can because their is that yellow stuff that holds up an arrow. When it falls down jump on it and as soon as you appear in the next part go to your left. Stand on the edge of the rock to make it move. then once it starts moving keep rolling it until it rolls over the (?), then shoot it, then a seed pops out so you climb to the top to get the red coins to get 100 points.

How to get yellow and red eggs

Sent in by Rilo1 If you find a tulip, aim for the ground so it will ricochet and hit it. It turns into a yellow egg. Do it again with the yellow egg, you will get a red egg!

Boost your stars up to 30

Sent in by Rilo1 In level 2-1 (Visit Koopa and Para-Koopa), when you go down the pipe and into the area where the Super Baby Mario star is, you can boost your stars up to 30. Hit the Super Baby Mario star and run up the wall. When you get to the spot where you are between two rows of the blocks that only appear when you're controlling Super Baby Mario, jump and hold B. You will jump up, hit a block, bounce down, and float back up because of your parachute. Make sure you move left and right so you hit different blocks. Keep doing this until your Super Baby Mario time runs out. Whenever you hit a special Super Baby Mario block, either a coin or a star will pop out. When your time runs out, grab the stars that have come out. If you keep doing this you can get your stars all the way up to 30.

Defeating Bowser

Sent in by Manu Srivastava at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! There are two versions of Bowser - mini baby-Bowser and mega baby-Bowser. You must defeat both. #1. The first Bowser is very easy. You will be required to pound the ground. It will send a huge bump along the floor. If baby-Bowser stumbles on it, he'll lose health. This may be very tricky, so don't give up! Watch out for his bumps, and avoid getting gridden on! #2: After hurting him 3 times, Magikoopa will come up and make him huge! You'll be on top of the castle...facing him (it's 3D) After avoiding the falling rocks, it's time to kick rear end here! When he locks his target onto you, be careful! Time your jump correctly and you'll avoid his fireball, if not..you're dead. After 3 fireballs, quickly grab the egg, and aim for his head (the eye's especially). If you hit him he'll get knocked back a lot. Careful! He get's closer every time you don't knock him back. If he get's very close, he'll destroy you! After hitting him 3 times, 3 more falling rocks will cut your platform space into a 3rd! The strategy is the same. Except his fireballs are double speed, and there's less space to move around (thus making it harder to get an egg). This time, he get's close quickly, so every turn counts! Hit him 5 times, and he'll explode.

Get the X, X, Y, B, A code

Sent in by Graeme Bent On Level 5-4 (Sluggy the Unshaven's Fort) there is a door on your left when you enter the level. Make sure you have a POW or a little cloud in your special items box when you press pause. Enter the door and there will be a metal dog thing, use your POW or the cloud and he will explode and a door will appear enter it and talk to the talking box. He will tell you the X, X, Y, B, A code.

Hidden light show

Sent in by WarFrog This is just a little thing for fun. It seems like a hidden light show. 1. Find a stage where evil flowers fall and roll at you and with shallow water that they can fall into. 2. Enter the stage and get to where the flower(s) is/are. 3. Get some enemy in Yoshi's mouth. 4. Move close enough to the flower so that it falls and rolls. 5. Get away and wait for the flower to hit the water. 6. Hit the flower with whatever Yoshi has. 7. Watch the sparks and stars fly around.

Tap Tap the Red Nose tip

Sent in by X at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! For Tap Tap the Red Nose, stand under the platform with the Egg Plant. Next, make sure you're standing between two of the green blocks. You MUST do this before Tap Tap jumps, or you'll have to go the full way with him. Hold up and when the marker reaches its peak, throw an egg, then walk left slightly, so Tap Tap doesn't hit you. By the time Tap Tap jumps, all of the layers of blocks in that small area will be gone and Tap Tap will jump right in. If you did this correctly, the area width you destroyed is 2 blocks. One block width isn't enough. Tap Tap might jump over it.

Salvo Slime trick

Sent in by X Here's something to do with Salvo Slime, just for fun. You have to be able to control your flight pretty well to do this. Keep hitting Salvo until he's just slightly bigger than Yoshi. Next, hover over the small lava area and throw eggs at Salvo until he's defeated. You'll fall into the lava, but you'll go beyond it. The 'defeated boss' scenario will go on as it usually does, the key will float down under the screen, the keyhole will appear, and you'll be invisible when you go through it. (Actually, you won't be invisible, but you won't see anything go through the keyhole.

Level 5-3 tip

Sent in by Franny Rogers at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! In Level 5-3: Danger! Slippery Ahead! you will come to a place with storks and a hut. You can't go anywhere but back or in the hut. Go into the hut to get skis. The skis are very hard to control, since you go so fast. Jump at just the right time to clear a crevasse. With good timing, you can clear this area!

Fighting Ralphael the Raven

Sent in by John Fleury The battle with Ralphael the Raven is a 360-degree battle on the moon. To beat him, he has to be right below you and standing on a stake, and you have to be above him and on a stake. Pound the stake(jump, them push down)and you'll damage him. Do this three times and you'll defeat him.

Flower tip

Sent in by Yoshi In One level (I Forget which one) you go down a pipe and grab a Star. To get the Flower that some of You might not know how to get, get the Star and run up the wall to the area with a bunch of coins. Instead of floating through the coins, let Baby Mario fall. When you see another Star, grab it and run up the wall. Grab all the Stars on the way and you will come to it.

Hidden level and a bonus game

Sent in by Spiff Get 100 points on all of the levels in a world and you will get a hidden level and a bonus game you can play any time **NOTE: Any time you win in the Bonus Round, you get an item, or an extra life**

Pirana Plant castle tip

Sent in by Kenny At the Pirana Plant castle, make sure you have at least one egg and go through the red door. When you are done sliding, keep on going right until you see the pirana plant in the corner. Don`t get to close. Jump and throw an egg at the plant and it will die. Kamek should say OH MY and you get to the next stage.

Skip Naval Pirahna

Sent in by Justin C. I have found a way to skip Naval Pirahna. Make sure you have full eggs before you do this. Try to shoot him with an egg when he's small. You can stand on the very edge of the platform without having Kameck come. If you hit him Kameck will come and yell at you, and that will be the end of Naval pirahna!

Beat the Potted Ghost

Sent in by Akhil Pai at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! In the Potted Ghost Castle, to beat the Potted Ghost push him of the ledge.

Beat the Navel Parana Plant

Sent in by Akhil Pai The Navel Parana Plant seems hard but he's pretty dumb, instead of hitting it to his mouth, hit a little below the ledge. He dies after 3 hits.

Beat Hookbill

Sent in by Akhil Pai To defeat Hookbill in Hookbills Castle, shoot eggs to his head until he's on his back then pound him do this 3 times and you defeated him.

Skip the Welcome to Yoshi's Island stage

Sent in by David O'Farrell When you enter the first stage called "Welcome to Yoshi's Island," press Start, then Select to skip that stage.

Shyguy tip

If a Shyguy is standing too close to a pipe and the shell hits it, the shell and the Shyguy will be destroyed.

Mini-games

On any stage selection screen, point to a stage with the cursor, then hold Select and press X, X, Y, B, A. If you enter the code correctly, a new menu will appear with several mini-games to choose from.

Lots of lives

Sent in by rglau@sprynet.com at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! To get 999 lives, go to Stage 1-7. When you start the stage grab a Melon Bug, (Those bugs that turn in to a ball) then hurry up to the pipe with shy-guy coming out of that pipe spit the Melon Bug to the LEFT side of the pipe. After a few second every time a shy-guy touches the Melon Bug the shy guy will turn into a 1-Up!
On level 4-1 - Go, Go Mario - carry Mario to the first monster generating pipe (a pipe that keeps producing monsters until Yoshi has six eggs, referred to as a M.G.P). First, annihilate the two man-eating flowers growing out of the two tubes located to the right and kill the red turtle that is roaming between one of the pipes that a flower was growing on and the M.G.P. Second, fill up your egg supply at the monster generating pipe so that the monsters stop popping out of it. Next, slurp up a green shelled turtle and hold it in your mouth (there is one flying around to the right of the two pipes that the deadly flowers were growing out of). After this is completed, go and stand on the pipe closest to the monster generating pipe (the one that one of the flowers were growing on), making sure that the M.G.P is in sight, Then, spit out the green turtle shell so that it is bouncing back and forth between the pipe you are standing on and the M.G.P. Last, shoot an egg or two into the air so the monsters start popping out again. The ricocheting shell will begin to kill the monsters and after seven monsters have been killed the next monsters killed will each give you a 1-Up (At first you might have problems because the green shell might "pop" when it hits the first monster but keep on trying) This method will give you an extra life every 3 seconds. If you wait long enough you will see that the lives continue up past 99 to 999!
Sent in by Adam L. at The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!! In Touch Fuzzy Get Dizzy stage (1-5), gulp up (but DON'T swallow!) a jumping little thing that looks like a watermelon. Now spit him out near a Shyguy pipe. When the Shyguys touch the watermelon dude, you get 1-ups. Keep doing this until you have all the 1-ups you need.
To gain all the lives you want on Stage 4-1, try this: 1. With at least 3 eggs, maximum: 5 eggs, grab a shell. But do not make a egg out of it. 2. When you get to a point where there's two tunnels with piranha plants, kill the plants with the eggs. 3. Stand on the tunnel facing the pipe with the shyguys jumping out. 4. Make sure that the shyguys are jumping out the tunnel. Then spit the shell out. 5. The shell should go back and fourth between the shyguy pipe and the pipe that you're standing on killing the shyguys coming out the pipe.

Leave a level you allready finished

When in a level you have finished before press Start, then Select to get out of it.

Missing red coins

On level 1-7 there is a log looking thing that sticks up diagonally. Go to the top of it and jump a few times until you get a bouncy thing. Jump on this and you will go up to the clouds. Find the boulder and roll it until you find a magic flower thing. Go up this and on the clouds you will find the missing red coins.

What are the question marks on the map screen for?

If you get 100 points in every stage of the world you're in, those two question marks will turn into an extra stage and a bonus game.

On Stage 1-7, I'm missing four red coins. Where are they?

At the end of the stage there's a fallen log. Stand on top of it and shoot straight up to make a small arrow ball drop down. Bounce off the arrow ball to reach a secret area with the coins.

On Stage 2-7, I can't get to the first Middle Ring because there are two big posts in the way.

Jump up and press down when you're in the air to pound down the two posts. Now you'll be able to get to that Middle Ring.

How do I perform that mega stomp?

To pound on the ground, hit down when you're in the air. Use this to pound it stakes and defeat some enemies (including Marching Milde and the first battle with Baby Bowser).

How do I defeat Naval Piranha?

At first, Naval Piranha seems hard, but like any Mario boss he's pretty dumb. He's easy if you know how. Here's how: instead of firing an egg towards his mouth, fire it at the wall just a little below the ledge. Your egg will skip along the water and WHAM! He's defeated after 3 hits.

How do I defeat Hookbill Koopa?

To defeat this mutant Koopa Troopa, fire eggs at his head. Continue rapidly firing until he's on his back. Use the mega stomp when he's on his back. Repeat 3 times and you'll bust his shell.

What's the trick to get through Hookbill's Castle?

You'll need to use one of the many Koopa Troopas. Stomp them and use their shells to shoot into the small crevices to hit the ? clouds.

Where are all the red coins in 1-7?

I was stumped here. In the final area, the one with the bridges, go up on the tree stump and jump up or shoot an egg or something, to go to a secret area.

How do I defeat Tap Tap the Red Nose?

This is like the Bowser battle in Mario 3. To make him fall into the lava, shoot the blocks out. Use the eggs to shoot them. Try to concentrate your attacks on one area at a time. If Tap Tap comes too close, hit him with an egg in his nose.

How do I defeat the Potted Ghost?

You almost can't lose this battle. Just shove the pot off the edge. Keep pushing. He can't do too much to him.

How do I defeat Salvo the Slime in Tap Tap's Castle?

Go down the pipe before his and through the left pipe. Gather the six eggs. You'll just have to be lucky. Sometimes the freezing of the crosshairs works.

How do I defeat the Green Piranha Plants?

To defeat these plants, shoot them with eggs 3 times.

Where can I get lots of 1-Ups?

In Level 4-1, you can get lots of 1-Ups. Get to the area at the top of the hill. You'll pass a Shyguy pipe. Have Yoshi pick up a Koopa shell and fire it between the two pipes. Be sure you don't have any eggs and to defeat the Green Piranha Plant on the other side of the shell's area.

How do I hit the floating clouds?

First, you must find an enemy you can swallow. You can't swallow Koopa Troopas nor Paratroopas, the little black birds, Sparks, and other things. Usually, try to eat a Shyguy or any other standard foes like them. When you eat one, hit down to make Yoshi turn it into an egg. Now, you can hit the A button to set up a pair of crosshairs. When the crosshairs are in the right place, hit A again to fire.

The crosshairs keep moving! How do I stop them?

To stop the crosshairs, use the L and R buttons on top of the Controller. This is particular useful with Salvo the Slime and the final confrontation with Baby Bowser.
