ABOUT THIS DOCUMENT
As the unofficial verbal historian of Hyrule, I find it my duty to
publish my findings every once in a while. Otherwise, I don't get
paid. Anyway, this report has to do with the Speaking Stones of Hyrule.

ABOUT GOSSIP STONES
Gossip Stones, as they are more commonly called, are interesting stone
monoliths of unknown origin or design that elicit enticing snippets of
information when prompted correctly. That is to say, when spoken to
while the speaker is wearing the Mask of Truth. My assistant in this
endeavor was a curious little fairy boy by the name of Link, who
happened to have the Mask of Truth on loan from the Happy Mask Shop and
refused to give it up. So, thanks Link, I guess.

Gossip stones have other interesting qualities, especially when various
implements are applied to them. A brief list of cause and effects:
Striking the stone makes it bounce around and give you the time.
A nearby bomb explosion will send it into the stratosphere.
Attempting to burn it with fire with send it in a spinning tizzy.
Hitting it with a Megaton Hammer will flatten the poor stone.
Playing the Song of the Royal Family will release a fairy,
as will the Song of Storms.

They can be found all over Hyrule, but rarely in dungeons. However,
there are numerous records of Gossip Stones having been found in small
caves found just beneath the ground.

THE COMPILED WORDS OF THE SPEAKING STONES OF HYRULE
This is what it's all about, so pay attention. Care has been taken to
record the exact place of each stone, so that future historians can
update or correct my work. Damn revisionists.

This is the end of the document. All words of the stones, according to
a gossip stone who wishes to remain anonymous, are copyrights of Nintendo
Inc. Trust me, Hyrule's lawyers are the worst. Don't mess with 'em.

As for me, consider my words a gift to the public domain.

              After all, they're paid for.

Just don't modify anything without my consent.

I would like to thank Robert Labanieh-Leggitt <EtherealDragon@webtv.net>
for pointing out that there IS a Gossip Stone in a dungeon. The other
guys who pointed this out were LinkHylia@aol.com and jeff729@stratos.net.
LinkHylia@aol.com also pointed out a few additional qualities to the
stones that I was previously unaware of.

Thanks, guys, you keep a bad historian honest. *sniff*
