FAQ List |WELCOME| Welcome to my new and once again improved FAQ. You might of seen my Castlevania FAQ, and it's different than my first two FAQs. Well, I tried to make my FAQ better, but it didn't turn out so great! Anyway, hopefully I will continue to make my FAQs like this. Many of you people may not need this FAQ, but I wanted to finish off Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII, and that held me back. Also, I did write down that whole Move List and took me almost a whole week to do! If you did anything that was on this FAQ, please e-mail me so I didn't waste two to four weeks doing this! |GAME DATA| Title: Super Smash Bros. ESRB Rating: Everyone No. of Players: 1-4 Simultaneously Battery-Backed Memory: Yes Controller Pak: No Rumble Pak: Yes Released: 1999 Company: Nintendo/HAL Labortory Genre: Tournament Fighter |REVISION OF VERSIONS| Version 1.0 ñ Made this FAQ |STORYLINE| There is no storyline to this game. The story is just about a boy playing with his Nintendo action figures. He sets up those arenas and then plays with them. At the last arena, whoever the winner of all his other action figures, he makes the boss his own hand. If his action figure beats his own hand, that figure will be his best toy and always stays on the desk. |CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS| Here are my descriptions of all those characters in the games. I will also put where the character stars or cameo appearance in a game. ========================================== KEY: NES ñ Nintendo Entertainment System SNES ñ Super Nintendo Entertainment System GB ñ Game Boy GBC ñ Game Boy Color ARC ñ Arcade N64 ñ Nintendo 64 VB ñ Virtual Boy ========================================== ++NORMAL CHARACTERS++ [MARIO] Game Description: Although best known as the mustached plumber who battles the Turtle Tribe with distinct jumpting action, this internationally-famous hero has also acted as a referee, a driver, and even a doctor! He's been linked to Princess Peach of Mushroom Kingdom for years, but to this day their true relationship remains a mystery. The Works: -Donkey Kong (NES/GB/ARC) -Donkey Kong Jr. (NES/ARC) -Donkey Kong Classics (NES) -Mario Bros. (NES) -Mario is Missing! (NES/SNES) -Super Mario Bros. (NES/GB/SNES) -Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES/SNES) -Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES/SNES) -Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels (NES/GB/SNES) -Dr. Mario (GB) -Super Mario Land (GB) -Super Mario Land 2 (GB) -Wario Land <Cameo Appearance> (GB) -Super Mario Bros. DELUXE (GBC) -Mario's Time Machine (SNES) -Super Mario All-Stars (SNES) -Super Mario Kart (SNES) -Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES) -Super Mario World (SNES) -Yoshi's Island (SNES) -Virtual Tennis (VB) -Mario Kart 64 (N64) -Super Mario 64 (N64) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: This plumber is a real-time good guy, and his hammer really scares Bowser's enemies! I think Nintendo made the really best of this popular dude, and he stars in the most games ever made by the company. That mustache idea was really helpful, too! [DK] Game Description: Donkey Kong and Mario started out as arch-rivals, but they've patched things up in recent years. These days, DK spends his time searching the jungle for bananas instead of kidnapping beautiful maidens. In the past few years, other memebers of the Kong family have cashed in on DK's fame as well, including his favorite nephew, Diddy. The Works: -Donkey Kong (NES/GB/ARC) -Donkey Kong Classics (NES) -Donkey Kong Land (GB) -Donkey Kong Land 2 <Cameo Appearance> (GB) ñDonkey Kong Land 3 <Cameo Appearance> (GB) -Donkey Kong Country (SNES) -Donkey Kong Country 2 <Cameo Appearance> (SNES) -Donkey Kong Country 3 <Cameo Appearance> (SNES) -Super Mario Kart (SNES) -Mario Kart 64 (N64) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: The most popular monkey in Video Gameland, he is a really great character to play, but he is very rare to be played in games. He can only be played in DK Country and DK Land by just himself. Can't way to see him in Donkey Kong 64 (article in Nintendo Power and E3)! [LINK] Game Description: Link is the valiant boy hero from "The Legend of Zelda" series in which he fights against the evil Ganon to recover the Triforce. Though is tools may change through each adventure, his strength and righteousness remain constant. With his trusty sword and a variety of weapons, he takes adventure head-on! The Works: -The Legend of Zelda (NES) -Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES) -The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB) -The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (GBC) -The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) -Super Mario RPG <Cameo Appearance> (SNES) -The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: He is my most favorite character of this game. I also think that he is the best. Link has been one of the famous Nintendo characters from far beyond to recently, and his finest Zelda quest had a lot to offer. But that's not all of what this Hylian person has up his sleevesóexpect to see a new game in year 2001. [SAMUS] Game Description: Samus Aran is the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy. Using a special suit powered by the technology of the bird people which allows her to execute daring aerobatic feats, Samus persues the air-borne life form, Metroid, throughout the universe. The Works: -Metroid (NES) -Metroid 2: Return of Samus (GB) -Super Metroid (SNES) -Super Mario RPG <Cameo Appearance> (SNES) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: You may think that this is the first time Samus is in 3-D, but that's not true. She has made a cameo appearance in Super Mario RPG at the inn in the forest place. This is just the first time in 3-D that you can play Samus. I don't really think that Samus was really popular, and I am just borrowing Metroid 2, so I don't know much about her at all. All I know is that she can really fit into that she can really destroy those Metroids! [YOSHI] Game Description: Yoshi is the friendly dinosaur in Yoshi's Island. He began as Mario's parner, but has now built his own identity, and now appears in many games. He uses his unique ability to turn whatever he swallows into an egg as his foremost attack. Yoshis come in a rainbow of colors and are said to have IQ from a very early age. The Works: -Yoshi! (GB) -Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES) -Super Mario Kart (SNES) -Super Mario World (SNES) -Yoshi's Forest (SNES) -Yoshi's Island (SNES) -Super Mario 64 <Cameo Appearance> (N64) -Mario Kart 64 (N64) -Yoshi's Story (N64) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: A cute, lovable dino has made itself a little bit more popular and not as cute as Yoshi's Story. What I think about Yoshi's Story is a mistake to be a game. I think that game is ranged about a 1 year old to a 3 year old. Us older kids no better than not to play those childish games. But anyway, people always ask me: "What is Yoshi's Forest?" Well, I never played the game, but I looked at the box at a store once and it is a tetris-type game. Anyway, Yoshi better not be as happy in Yoshi's Story: Part II which is heading to your N64 in year 2000 or 2001 (this is what I heardódon't know if it is true). [KIRBY] Game Description: The 8-inch high Kirby hails from a distant, peaceful star. Like his simplistic appearance, he is an easily-understood character. True to his instincts, Kirby eats when he gets hungry and sleeps as soon as he grows tired. Nevertheless, Kirby remains a formidable opponent. In addition to his distinct flying and swallowing sklls, he also has the ability to copy enemy attacks for ever-changing action. The Works: -Kirby's Dream Land (GB) -Kirby's Dream Land 2 (GB) -Kirby's Dream Land 3 (GB) -Kirby's Pinball Land (GB) -Kirby's Dream Course (SNES) -Kirby's Super Star (SNES) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: Kirby's Super Star is the most best game that Kirby has starred in. The problem about the game is the Arena. It's very, very difficult! Kirby is by far known one of the popular puff-ball in Nintendoland, but the problem is you don't need to see him in 3-D to enjoy himóyou know already that he is just a puff-ball. [FOX] Game Description: Following in his dead father's footsteps as the young leader of the Star Fox Team, Fox McCloud's piloting of the super-high- performance ship ARWING for the Lylatian System is still fresh in our memories. His one weakness may be his difficulty earning the trust of his teammates. The Works: -Star Fox (SNES) -Star Fox 64 (N64) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: Fox is one good leader for the Star Fox team, but wouldn't Falco make a good leader if he wasn't annoying as he is? Well anyway, Fox is very hard to control and may be a while before you master him in a 1P Game, but otherwise he is the only one that has a gun that doesn't need to be charged. [PIKACHU] Game Description: Pikachu Mouse PKMN Height 1'4" Weight 13lbs. When several of these Pokemon gather, their electricity could cause lightning storms (Pokedex excerpt) The Works: -Pokemon <Red and Blue> (GB) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: The most popular Pokemon in the world, Pikachu will star in his own game, Pokemon Yellow. But right now, to start you off, here he is in 3-D before Pokemon Stadium arrives. Pikachu has great attacks for beginners, but I never use him. Well, I do sometimesÖ ++SPECIAL CHARACTERS++ {LUIGI} Game Description: Though Luigi is hidden in his older brother Mario's shadow, Luigi is, in reality, very popular. Taller than Mario, Luigi is also jumps higher. Although he didn't appear in Super Mario 64, in Mario Kart 64 he performed to the best of his ability. For one who seems to always be in the background, he has many fans that eagerly await his appearance. The Works: -Mario Bros. (NES/ARC) -Mario is Missing (NES/SNES) -Super Mario Bros. (NES/SNES) -Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES/SNES) -Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES/SNES) -Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels (NES/GB/SNES) -Super Mario All-Stars (SNES) -Super Mario Kart (SNES) -Super Mario World (SNES) -Mario Kart 64 (N64) =Super Mario Bros. (N64)= My Description: A very good fighter in Super Smash Bros., and a good racer in both Mario Kart games. But his landing in his jumps in SMB- The Lost Levels is very poor, and so is his jumpings. I'm used to calling Luigi "Lew-Ghee," but I'm trying to say "Lew-E-Gee" instead. Oh wellÖanyway, I think Luigi is a real cool fighter in this game. {CAPTAIN FALCON} Game Description: A regular pilot in a great, galactic race F-ZERO Grand Prix, Captain Falcon is skilled at collecting prize money. Much about his past remains hidden in shadow, but it's clear that many a villian hold a powerful grudge against him. The Works: -F-ZERO (SNES) -F-ZERO X (N64) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: I don't know anything about this guy, so I'll skip this part. {NESS} Game Description: Ness was a seemingly-average kid from Onett, but in truth, he was destined for much more. When a strange meteorite landed near his himetown, the little boy with psychic powers set out to save the world. Little has been said about Ness's character, and much remains hidden. The Works: -Earthbound (SNES) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: Sorry, but I have never played Earthbound, so I can't explain anything about him. {JIGGLYPUFF} Game Description: The balloon PKMN with big round eyes. It sings a smooth melody, sending those who hear it to sleep. When mad, it puffs itself up. As a balloon PKMN, its body is light, weak, and easy to blow away. The Works: -Pokemon <Red and Blue> (GB) =Super Smash Bros. (N64)= My Description: A waste of time if you ask me! This Pokemon isn't worth scrap to fight if you ask me, but some people may think that she is strong. I don't think so. Face itóher punches are weak and you have to get at least 100% damage to use the sleep move to make them fly. |CHARACTER MOVES| Here are the all the character moves that I have found for each player. ++NORMAL CHARACTERS++ [MARIO] Punch/Kick ñ A Punch/Kick Combo ñ A x3 Uppercut ñ UP <THEN> A Low Kick ñ DOWN <THEN> A Roundhouse ñ RIGHT/LEFT <THEN> A Headbash ñ UP + A Trip Kick ñ DOWN + A Mega Punch ñ RIGHT/LEFT + A Slider ñ DASH + A Fireball ñ B Coin Punchin' Uppercut ñ UP + B Tornado Spin ñ DOWN + B Flip Kick ñ JUMP <THEN> UP + A Sideways Spin Attack ñ JUMP <THEN> FORWARD + A Diagonal Spin Attack ñ JUMP <THEN> DOWN + A Backward Kick ñ JUMP <THEN> BACKWARD + A [DK] Punch ñ A Overhead Slap ñ UP <THEN> A Downward Slap ñ DOWN <THEN> A Big Punch ñ RIGHT/LEFT <THEN> A Overhead Slap (different) ñ UP + A Big Slap ñ RIGHT/LEFT + A Split Spin Attack ñ DOWN + A Very Strong Kick ñ DASH + A DK Punch ñ B (press again to release punch) DK Spin Punch ñ UP + B DK Ground Punch ñ DOWN + B Overhead Slap (in the air) ñ JUMP <THEN> UP + A Air-Roll ñ JUMP <THEN> FORWARD + A Down Kick ñ JUMP <THEN> DOWN + A Backward Kick ñ JUMP <THEN> BACKWARD + A [LINK] Sword Hit ñ A Sword Combo ñ A x3 Overhead Sword Hit ñ UP <THEN> A Downward Sword Hit ñ RIGHT/LEFT <THEN> A Low Sword Hit ñ DOWN <THEN> A x3 Upward Sword Hits ñ UP + A Super Sword Hit ñ RIGHT/LEFT + A Low Sword Hits (front and back) ñ DOWN + A Sword Stab ñ DASH + A Boomerang ñ B Spin Attack ñ UP + B Bomb (press A/R to throw) ñ DOWN + B Upward Stab ñ JUMP <THEN> UP + A Zigzagged Sword Hits ñ JUMP <THEN> FORWARD + A Downward Stab ñ JUMP <THEN> DOWN + A Backward Double Kick ñ JUMP <THEN> BACKWARD + A [SAMUS] Punch ñ A Punch Combo ñ A x2 Drop Kick ñ UP <THEN> A Low Trip ñ DOWN <THEN> A Roundhouse ñ RIGHT/LEFT <THEN> A Upward Flame-Throw ñ UP + A Blast Punch ñ RIGHT/LEFT + A Sweep Kick/Trip ñ DOWN + A Ram Attack ñ DASH + A Blaster Charge (press again to release) ñ B Screw Attack ñ UP + B Bombs Away! ñ DOWN + B Upward Spin Attack ñ JUMP <THEN> UP + A Flame-Throw ñ JUMP <THEN> FORWARD + A Blast Roll ñ JUMP <THEN> DOWN + A Air-Drop Attack ñ JUMP <THEN> BACKWARD + A [YOSHI] Kick ñ A Headbutt ñ UP <THEN> A Stronger Kick ñ RIGHT/LEFT <THEN> A Tail Trip ñ DOWN <THEN> A Leaping Headbutt ñ UP + A Headbutt ñ RIGHT/LEFT + A Tail Sweep (front or back of Yoshi; depends) ñ DOWN + A Head Ram ñ DASH + A Tounge Lash ñ B Egg Throw ñ UP + B Downward Dive ñ DOWN + B Vertical Tail Whip ñ JUMP <THEN> UP + A Fipping Headbutt ñ JUMP <THEN> FORWARD + A Quick Head Stomp ñ JUMP <THEN> DOWN + A Backward Kick ñ JUMP <THEN> BACKWARD + A [KIRBY] Punch ñ A Batch of Punches ñ A <REPEATEDLY> Overhead Kick ñ UP <THEN> A Straight Kick ñ RIGHT/LEFT <THEN> A Bottom Kick ñ DOWN <THEN> A Flip Kick ñ UP + A Roundhouse ñ RIGHT/LEFT + A Split Spin Attack ñ DOWN + A Headfirst Attack ñ DASH + A Swallow (after spitting out, you can use the character's B button attack) ñ B Cutter Attack ñ UP + B Stone ñ DOWN + B Continuous Cartwheel ñ JUMP <THEN> UP + A Sideways Spin Kick ñ JUMP <THEN> FORWARD + A Downward Spin Kick ñ JUMP <THEN> DOWN + A Backward Kick ñ JUMP <THEN> BACKWARD + A [FOX] Punch/Punch Combo ñ A Kicker Kombo ñ A CONT. If you have any questions about these moves or any other moves that I forgot to mention, please e-mail me. |ITEMS| Here are the items in the game, in order of the manual, but with my own description. {CARRIERS} Crate ñ Crates hold the items and can hold up to three items in each crate. DK can only carry this box, since it's pretty heavy. He can also jump with it, but only once a jump. Barrel ñ Punch/Kick or throw and roll to break it. Just make sure to not roll or throw it off the edge! Chanseyô Egg ñ Break to see what's inside! Capsule ñ It's very small, but don't get fooledóif it holds a Bob-Omb or mine, and you kick it open, you can go flying off the arena, so beware! Just throw it down to reveal what's inside. It can only hold one item. {THROWING ITEMS} Motion Sensor Bomb (Mine) ñ Called a "land mine" for short, anyone who steps on this once it is active will fly out of the arena if damage is over 50% for small characters. 75%-100% for bigger characters. Bumper ñ Not a thing that can blow you out, but it can sure knock you off if you don't see it. Bob-Omb ñ The most dangerous item. One blow from this will send anyone flying out of the arena. Poke Ball ñ Once thrown, a Pokemon comes out. I don't know what all the Pokemon are, but here are some that I have seen and what the do. Goldeen-Just flops there Mewoth-Shoots out coins from for directions Charizard-Shoots out fire from both sides Ninja PKMN(?)-Kicks a person off the arena Beedrill-A swarm of Beedrills will come flying from the right to left. Flashy PKMN(?)-Just goes away Mew-Don't really know what she does {CLOBBERING ITEMS} Beam Sword ñ The best item that there is if you are asking me. It also has the most throwing distance than any other item (except the shells). Hammer ñ The strongest item there, but it would be the best item only if you could have for more than 15 sec. Fan ñ Worst item that there is! The attacking is terrible and throwing distance stinks! I never use the itemÖI just let it go. Home Run Bat ñ Bad throwing distance, but if you get close to an enemy and do DASH + A, you could slam the enemy out of the arena for a home run! {SPECIAL ITEMS} Fire Flower ñ I use this to weaken the enemy, but you have to get mighty close to the enemy. The throwing attack is very powerful if the enemy took severe damage, but it doesn't throw very far. Ray Gun ñ This baby can shoot an enemy from the far left screen to the far right screen. The problem is it's only a .16 Laser. Star Rod ñ From the past Kirby games, this rod is very popular. You can shoot only 20 stars from it, but once you run out of stars, it can be used as a Clobbering Item. It's not a good one, but it's better than the fan! Star ñ You become invincible once you have the star. You only get to have for a short limited of time, though. Green Shell ñ A nice item that goes across floor of which it landed on, waiting for anyone (including the one who activated it) to hit it. Red Shell ñ Same thing as a Green Shell, only it can hit numerous amounts of people until it disappears. POW ñ This can be only found in the secret stage, Mushroom Kingdom. If an enemy or your teammate is on the ground, they will go flying up, and if they have enough damage, they could go flying in the big blue sky!!! {RECOVERY ITEMS} Maxim Tomato ñ It recovers 100% damage on your damage meter. Heart Containers ñ It recovers all of your damage on the damage meter. {SPECIAL ITEMS} POW ñ Only found in the secret Mushroom Kingdom stage. Anyone that is on the ground will go high-flying into the air. More the damage on a damage meter, the more they will fly! |STAGES| Here are all the stages that are in the game. PEACH'S CASTLE It has a bumper at the top of the castle in the backround, two ramps with one on each side, a bridge, and a platform with a scrolling platform moving through it. <INFO ñ Owned by: Mario Bros. Play: Mario Bros.> CONGO JUNGLE It has two platforms that are going up and down with two treetops and the ground level. It also has a barrel going right and left at the very bottom of the arena, just in case you don't make it back. <INFO ñ Owned by: DK Play: Giant DK> PLANET ZEBUS It has three bridges, a moving platform to the right side, and the ground level. Lava will sometimes rise up and blow the character out of the arena if over 100% damage. <INFO ñ Owned by: Samus & Captain Falcon Play: Samus> SECTOR Z All it has is the top of the ship to walk on and the arwings that fly around it (they sometimes shoot at you). <INFO ñ Owned by: Fox Play: Fox> SAFFRON CITY It has the top of the building, Silph Co., where the window has Pokemon randomly come out (list of what comes out next). To the right, it has the airplane landing building and to the left has two platforms moving up and down and a small building between them. Voltorb-Explodes a couple of seconds after it pops out Chansey-Gives out eggs Charmander-Shoots out huge fire Bulbasaur-Shoots out green lasers <INFO ñ Owned by: Pikachu & Jigglypuff Play: Pikachu> HYRULE CASTLE You play the balcony of the castle with three platforms that are atop the balcony, the first roof to the left, and a tower to the right. Watch out for the tornadoes that pop out frequentlyÖthey can be a major pain! <INFO ñ Owned by: Link Play: Link> DREAM LAND There are two small platforms at the end of each side of the land, a big platform that is by the backround of the top of the trees, and the base land. It also has a tree that blows from the Whisper Woods, and might blow you away if you're not paying attention. <INFO ñ Owned by: Kirby & Ness Play: Kirby Team> YOSHI'S ISLAND There are three platforms above the base ground and of course the base ground. There are also clouds at the right and left of the land (a total of one on the left and three on the right). <INFO ñ Owned by: Yoshi Play: Yoshi Team> MUSHROOM KINGDOM +SECRET STAGE+ This is almost exactly like the Super Mario Bros. game that has all the levels mixed together in one stage. The background looks cool if you have time to check it. <INFO ñ Owned by: Mario Bros. Play: Anonymous> |SPECIAL BONUS AWARDS| The following are all the Special Bonus awards that I have found and studied what they do. Defeat game in Very Hard mode Yoshi Rainbow 15,000 Defeat Yoshis in order of appearance |WALKTHROUGH| Here is the step-by-step guide for the 1-Player Game. STAGE 1: {LINK} Possibly the most easiest person to beat. He uses bombs a lot, and in Very Hard mode, he can really be a pain. If you are DK, just keep on throwing him, while Captain Falcon is your best bet. When he isn't looking, use the Falcon Punch and he should go flying. Mario and Luigi should use their uppercuts, and Ness can use his Yo-Yo. STAGE 2: {YOSHI TEAM}-VS. 16 You can throw these to make sure they never come back, but if you are in a hurry, use these moves: Mario and Luigi should use there uppercuts once for each Yoshi and then Front-Kick them out of the arena. Link should use his Spin Attack, and DK should use is Whirlwind Move. Samus is best with her feet, and Yoshi (himself) is best with his throw move. He's also could with the UP + A move, too. The small guys can use throw, and Fox can use his feet. Captain Falcon can use his Falcon Punch or Downward Flame Punch, and Ness can use his Yo-Yo. STAGE 3: {FOX McCLOUD} Just keep on throwing him until he is out of the arenaóit's simple as that. BONUS 1: {BREAK THE TARGETS!} Coming Soon STAGE 4: {MARIO BROS.} Could be the first challenge that you will faceóbut they are simple to beat. Concentrate on not throwing them high. If you do, they will end up on the ramp sliding down to safety. If they do get on a ramp, and start coming down, use UP + A before hitting the ground. Then, when they are in the air, go up in the air and press UP + A. Keep doing that until are into the background. Another option of defeating them is the bumper atop of the Mushroom Kingdom Castle (background). Once they reach around 150%-200% damage, then throw them into the bumper. They should go flying out of the arena. Another option is to wait until they are at the moving platform that goes back and forth through it's platform. Keep hitting them with the A button until the platform starts to move back. Then, go up in the air and then when you are by them, press the A button and they should fall off. If they make it, keep doing that until they are no longer there. Now, quickly jump out of that area and go for the next one! You could also let your partner do the job for you (if you have a good one), but he'll probably end up dying. STAGE 5: {PIKACHU} If you are in Easy or Normal Mode, he'll probably end up killing himself, but if not, just keep on throwing him. If you are DK, use the Spin-Arm attack until he is over 100%, then throw him backwards into the blue. Remember that he is lightweight and easy to push around, so use all sorts of strong attacks. Becareful of his attacks, because they could hurt you. He also as a good arm at throwing if you are at Hard or Very Hard. STAGE 6: {GIANT DK} Maybe the most hardest to beatÖor the most easiest. It depends if he is smart or dumb. Sometimes, he can get killed by just mis-jumping or blowing himself up. If he is smart, he'll use is Spin-Arm attack all the time after he double-jumps. Weak him down, and make sure never to get powered-up for the Super Punch. If he does, one of your allies could get blown away. Hopefully you never get Pikachu, Jigglypuff, or Ness. They are all lightweight and could get blown the easiest. Your allies would never be able to defeat this guy, so it's all up to you! Defeat him by throwing a crate or a bomb barrel at him, or try to throw him. DK is the best one to defeat himóhe's the strongest. If DK is one of your allies, then he won't live long. BONUS 2: {BOARD THE PLATFORMS!} Coming Soon STAGE 7: {SAMUS ARAN} You may think: "Oh geez! It's just a girl!", but think again! She packs a major wallop, and uses that rolling move a lot! The best way to defeat her is to throw her into the oven and let the lava do the work. Clobbering items also have an effect on her. The bat item is a great one to do a Home Run move with it. STAGE 8: {KIRBY TEAM}-VS. 8 Just throw them off of the arena. Items can help also. STAGE 9: {METAL MARIO} Throwing him is just a waste of time. Keep on hitting him and damaging him until he gets to about 250% damage. Then, use your DASH + A move when he is on the edge of the arena so you can knock him down. Home Runs don't really have an effect to him in Normal, Hard, and Very Hard mode. BONUS 3: {RACE TO THE FINISH!} Every character has the same bonus stage. Here's a helpful tip: IGNORE THE POLYGONS THAT ARE IN YOUR WAY!! Lots of people have asked me this question over and over: "B.J. If you have played Super Smash Bros. for the 64, have you ever finished bonus 3? I need help! My e-mail is: ???@???.???". Now this will also be posted in the FAQ Hall of Fame that I'll probably make sometime. Just jump over the polygons and then dash. Once you just dashed, hold the Control Stick the way you dashed and you will start running from the polygon. There are five floors to go through until the finish. STAGE 10: {FIGHTING POLYGON TEAM}-VS. 30 These can be a pain, but they are very easy. Do the same method you did in the Yoshi Team stage. There will be a Recovery Item after you defeat around 15 of them. FINAL STAGE: {MASTER HAND} He has 300HP (sort of unusual for this fighting game and "HP" is for RPG games). He's Tricky for some people, and easy for some people. The small and lightweight people that have powers (Ness and Pikachu) could have an easy victory for this stage. The other big people will be a challenge. Mario and Luigi can use their Spin Attack or their Uppercut attacks. DK can use his Spin-Arm, and Link can use his 3x Upper Stabs move. Samus can use her flaming leg attack, and Captain Falcon can use his flurry of punches. Ness is best for his Yo-Yo, and Yoshi is best for his leg attacks. Kirby is good at DOWN + A attack, and Pikachu is too. Jigglypuff is the worst one, but you can use her A button moves until finished. No items will appear throught the arena, and you may lose a life with the difficulty setting Normal or above. |FAQ| Not many FAQs I have spotted, but there are a couple. Q. I CAN'T KILL MY ENEMY! THAT COUNTER-THING JUST KEEPS ON GOING UP! A. The counter-thing is the Damage Meter, and you need to throw or punch/kick your enemy off the arena. This isn't like a typical fighting game, you know. Q. ALL RIGHT, I'M TICKED OFF! I CAN'T PICK UP ANY ITEM THAT I SEE! WHAT GIVES? A. You need to press the A button to pick up an item. To throw it, press the R button. Q. AREN'T SOUND TESTS USUALLY IN FIGHTING GAMES? A. Yes, but this one is hidden. You need to play the Vs. Mode 50 times to open it up. If you have the Japenese Version of the game, select your very own character, and put the Handicap LV to 5. Now, select 3 computer players, and put their Handicap LV to 5. Select the Stock Game and put it to 10. At the end, if you win, you will get the Sound Test. Q. WHAT ARE THOSE 4 SCREENS WITH A ? IN THEM AT THE CHARACTER SELECT SCREEN FOR? ARE THEY FOR THE SECRET CHARACTERS? A. You got it. That's what they are exactly for. Q. IN BONUS 3, I CAN'T SEEM TO GET TO THE EXIT SINCE I NEED TO DEFEAT THE POLYGONS. HELP!! A. Just ignore the polygons and run from them. That's why it's called "Race to the Finish." All right, I need more FAQs for Super Smash Bros. If you have any, please e-mail me. |SECRETS| Here are all the secrets to the game. Cheat Databases that I have been to get the cheats are in the Credits section. If you do this task, you will have a chance to fight him. If you win, you'll get him. He's hard, but easy to push around. I perfer using DK, but Link and Pikachu could handle it. SECRET CHARACTER #4-JIGGLYPUFF To get this PKMN, go to the 1P Game and beat with any difficulty and life stock. If you beat this task (stop; rewind)ÖWhen you beat this task, you will be able to fight. If you win (stop; double rewind)ÖWhen you get your grand victory, you'll get her. She's weak, but has OK B button moves. MUSHROOM KINGDOM STAGE To get the secret Mushroom Kingdom stage for Vs. Mode, just beat the 1P Game with any difficulty and life stock for all 8 main players. You will find the symbol of the game if you have beaten the game with the player. ITEM SWITCH To get the Sound Test, just play the Vs. Mode 50 times. SOUND TEST To get this option, you need to complete Bonus Practice 1 & 2 with every character (including secret ones). Once you got it, go to the Data Screen. You have a choice of the Music, Sound Effects, and the Voices. COLOR CHANGE OUTFITS To color-change clothes, go to the Character Selection screen. When you are choosing a character, highlight (don't actually choose) the character and then press one of the four C buttons to change the color of the outfit. PIKACHU + SAFFRON CITY PKMN DOOR = "PIKA! PIKA!" (RAICHU) Go to the Training Mode and select the Saffron City stage. Move your character back, but don't make him fall off. Now, whenever the door just opens, go into the air. Now, try to get inside, but just before you do, press DOWN + B. He'll hit the Pokemon that is supposed to come out flying back inside. Now, just go inside before the door closes. When it opens up again, you go out saying "Raichui!" He has more powerful moves than Pikachu. I WOULD LIKE TO BUY A LIFE, PLEASE Here's a cool thing to do in Vs. Mode. Go to Tag Team and have a partner. If you die during the battle, and you want to play again, just press the START button to get one life from your member. But before you do, make sure to ask your friend and see if it is all right. "PPFFFFFFFFFT!" If you are playing Kirby, and you accidently swallowed a person you didn't want, and now you have their talent, here's a trick to not have the talent. Just press the L button and the cap will go plopping off. These are all the codes that I have found. Thank you GameSages, Xcheater, and N64 Code Center for these cheats. Some cheats I got for myself.
